About this list
A rated tournament counts for a player's rating, and in Hamburg the choice runs through the whole year. Classical games are played at the Hamburg individual championship, in the Landesliga, at the HSK Christmas and Easter opens and at the Sekt oder Selters tournament, and over seven Thursday evenings at the open autumn championship of Union Eimsbüttel in the ETV sports centre. In Blankenese the DWZ Challenge plays 60 minutes plus 30 seconds, and the regional under-8 children's tournament 55 minutes plus 5 seconds, both with a DWZ evaluation.
Faster rated play comes from the Schachvereinigung Blankenese, whose Rapid-Open and Blitz-Elo-Challenge share the canteen of the Lise-Meitner-Gymnasium, and from the Schach am Markt tournament of the Schachfreunde Sasel, the Luruper Schnellschachturnier, the Peter-Dankert-Turnier and the Eimsbütteler Schnellschachturnier. In Pinneberg the open city championship and the open rapid championship are rated too. Each entry links to the notice that gives the rounds and the time control.
